Graduated from Waseda University's Faculty of Letters in 1988.
As an announcer for Nippon Television, he appeared on many hit programs and became popular with famous phrases such as "Just Meet!".
In 2005, he left the station and became a freelance announcer.
Although he played in the table tennis club in junior high and high school, he put down the racket for a while.
After turning 40, he started to feel his physical strength declining, which prompted him to resume table tennis.
Now he is fascinated by table tennis and has formed his own table tennis team, where he sweats every week.
From 2011 to the present, he has been the main caster of TV Tokyo's "World Table Tennis".
